Backstage Brews: Custom Roasts for Rock Legends

Backstage Brews: Custom Roasts for Rock Legends

At Mainline Coffee, music runs through everything we do — from the names of our blends to the crackle of vinyl that echoes through the roastery. But one of the most exciting things we’ve done behind the scenes is roast coffee for the musicians who inspired us. We have our own collaboration with Poison's Rikki Rockett, called Rockett Roast, which is publicly available!

Over the past couple years in business, we’ve also had the honor of creating special, one-off blends for legendary artists. These weren’t public releases or flashy promotions — just thoughtful roasts, handed directly to the players who’ve shaped the soundtrack of our lives.

From custom labels to handpicked origins, each batch was inspired by these musicians own songs. And yes — the musicians actually got them! Having those artists enjoy a cup of something we roasted is something we’ll always be proud of.

We may not sell those blends (yet), but they’re a huge part of our story — and a reminder of why we do this. Coffee and music are both about connection, and we’re lucky to have shared a little of both with the people who inspired us to start. Below you can check out some of the backstage brews we’ve made for famous musician’s and have never shared publicly before!

Bassist & Singer - KISS

Gene Simmons

We had the surreal experience of sharing the stage — and dinner — with Gene Simmons, the demon from KISS. Mainline got to support Gene on his solo band tour, and as die-hard KISS fans, it was a blast! We made him his very own dark roast coffee to take back home with him.

Drummer - The Police

Stewart Copeland

We got to make Stewart Copeland, legendary drummer of The Police his own bag of Mainline Coffee! With custom packaging inspired directly by the bands second album "Regatta de Blanc" artwork!

Guitarist - Steely Dan & Doobie Brothers

Jeff "Skunk" Baxter

Besides working with Steely Dan, Doobie Brothers, Donna Summer, Dolly Parton, Ringo Starr, Carly Simon, and so many others! Jeff is also a defense consultant to the U.S. military on missile defense, so we made him his own tactical roast.

Guitarist - The Doors

Robby Krieger

The Doors had a famous song "Roadhouse Blues", we thought we'd play off that and tie in Robby's love for red SG guitars!

Bassist - The Rolling Stones

Darryl Jones

Darryl's first studio album after joining The Rolling Stones was Voodoo Lounge. One of the lead singles from that record was "You Got Me Rocking" and we thought that would be a perfect title!

Guitarist - Vixen

Britt Lightning

Britt is not only the lead guitarist in the all female rock band Vixen, but she also is the camp director at Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp! Britt was actually struck by lightning, that's where she gets her nickname, besides her shredding capabilities!

Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp

We made custom coffees for one of the Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp events, this particular bag was for the founder and CEO David Fishoff!
